The location of the hotel is undeniably impressive, with stunning views down the lake that take your breath away. The grandiose building adds to the charm and grandeur of the surroundings. the spa at the hotel offers a range of treatments, providing a relaxing and indulgent experience for guests.

The training of the staff at the hotel seems to be lacking, as seen in the reviews. Guests have complained about poor service, with issues such as incorrect orders and neglecting to address concerns.

This was a longer, return trip. We used the hotel as a base for some walks, plus use of the spa facilities. The evneing meals were excellent and the whole experience was relaxing. May well return in a few months.

Service was very good throughout our stay. 2 km to Bassenthwaite Lake. We can recommend it to those visiting Keswick.

The beautiful building and idyllic location made for a perfect getaway. The spa facilities were top-notch and the staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. We enjoyed a variety of activities such as swimming, walking, tennis, croquet, and visiting the wildlife park. It was a fun-filled and relaxing break for our family, including our 7-year-old son. We would love to return again soon!

Felt like VIP, no reason to complain.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough and will certainly return in the future. The staff could not do enough enough for you and the food was was wonderful. You have to visit the hotel to appreciate the setting and views. It is just a few minutes from Keswick so you are close to a small town for a theatre and shops.

Very relaxing and food excellent. All staff were very helpful. We stayed there 40 years ago for our Honeymoon, and returned last week for our Ruby Wedding Anniversay, this was our 3rd visit and again everything was superb.

Wonderful staff, beautiful environment, stunning views, amazing spa, lovely room. The breakfast could be improved, but overall a fantastic place to stay.

We loved the friendly staff, beautiful lake views, comfortable beds, and fantastic spa. The mountain memories canoeing with Justin was the highlight of our stay. Great vegan/vegetarian choices and lovely outdoor seating areas. Perfect for a friends getaway or a romantic break.

Felt like a home away from home, nothing was too much trouble.

We had a delightful dinner in a stunning hotel. The chicken main dish was delicious, and the creme brûlée and honey parfait were the highlights of our meal. The hotel staff was accommodating and breakfast was very nice. I highly recommend this hotel for a delightful dining experience.

The hotel is in an idyllic settting overlooking the lake. A very comfortable room (club double) which was situated near the spa with a partial view of the lake was spacious for our needs although my wife complained that the pillows were hard. we were on a half board tarriff and ate in the hotel for two nights on their 'gourmet' menu. The first evening meal was spectacular but the illusion of luxury was spoilt by an indifferent experience the following evening.

When paying these prices you want everything to be perfect and a little bit special, mostly this was the case but occasionally the service was not what it should have been. Breakfast is buffet style which I am not a big fan of as we are late risers and the food tends to be passed best - still don't let this put you off if you have a big appetite you can fill up with as much as you like! I should mention that there was a wedding on during our stay and the corridor next to our bedroom was quite noisy at times - until quite late.

Room got very warm had portable xpelair fan not suitable, just moves hot air about room maybe hotel could use plug in portable air coolers. this is a suggestion for the future these can be used in summer and winters Note this not a complaint against the hotel maybe somthing hotel should consider, rather than use xpelair fans.
